Cypres Verbeeck (she/her)

Hiya! My name is Cypres and I’m a third year PhD student within the Mathematical Biology research group here at St Andrews. My research focuses on the modelling and treatment of cancer, specifically using oncolytic virotherapy. I’m originally from Belgium, but came to St Andrews for my masters degree in Mathematical Biology and haven’t left Scotland since. Gabrielle Arrieta (she/her)

“Hi! I’m Gabby and I am a PhD student at St Andrews in the Centre for Research into Ecological and Environmental Modeling (CREEM). I did my undergraduate and master’s degrees in marine biology at the University of California San Diego. My current research focuses on using acoustic data from seismological surveys to estimate the abundance of fin whales in the North Atlantic, basically I count whales. Outside of this I like to rewatch all my favorite shows, eat Mexican food and bake!”
