Welcome to the University of Oxford committee page! The committee has joined the Piscopia network this academic year (2025-26). Georgina also runs Mathematrix which is a student-led discussion group in the Mathematical Institute where
postgraduates and postdocs discuss and explore topics related to challenges in
academic life and being a minority in the maths community. Mathematrix hosts
regular events during term-time, ranging from guest speaker sessions to book club to
crafts! Mathematrix looks at all aspects of diversity in maths, and we are very excited
to be part of the Piscopia Initiative for our work focusing on gender equality.

Georgina Ryan (she/her)
I’m a DPhil student in the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. My research involves using asymptotic analysis to model electrochemical devices (things like batteries or desalination processes). I’m from Melbourne in Australia and completed my undergraduate and masters studies at the University of Melbourne. Outside of maths, I am a coxswain on my college rowing team and I love doing embroidery!
