Chloe Kadir
Hello! I’m a PhD student in Planetary Science and Applied Mathematics at the University of Manchester, and I’m working on meteor entry trajectories. My research involves using camera data from fireball events to calculate arriving asteroid orbits and model the dark flight of meteorite fragments. My background is in Physics, as I’ve just completed my MPhys at the University of Manchester, where I’ve stayed on for postgrad. I’m really keen on outreach and public engagement, and I work at Jodrell Bank Observatory as an Explainer on the weekend where it’s great to connect with members of the public on the science and research that goes on there. I’m passionate about encouraging more women to get into STEM fields!

Hi, I’m Jasmine. I’m a PhD student at the University of Manchester researching dimensionality reduction and other statistical learning methods, specifically in healthcare. Before starting my PhD, I completed my undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Statistics at Newcastle University and then worked for 2 years as a Data Scientist. In my spare time I love running, hiking, bouldering, surfing, anything outdoors really!

Jasmine Hewitt (she/her)
I am a PhD student at the University of Manchester specialising in representation theory of finite groups under the supervision of Radha Kessar and Jay Taylor. My research will focus on fusion systems on blocks of finite groups of Lie type. I did my undergraduate at the University of Manchester too and won undergraduate of the year for my faculty! I am passionate about outreach and representing my peers, particularly being a spokesperson for those who struggle with disabilities and/or are of a gender minority. In my spare time I like to go to the gym, watch movies and read books (how original), but I also love a pint and socialising! I am easy going and I love a gossip.
Please email me if you want to chat about my research or just want to have a natter 🙂

I am Emily, a first year PhD student at the University of Manchester. My research is in unlikely intersections, and other problems in number theory, under the supervision of Martin Orr. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh, and my masters at the University of Bonn. I worked on a Scottish Government scheme for two years before returning to university to start my PhD. In my spare time I love to swim, hike and read fiction.
