Meet our Glasgow committee, currently led by Laura!
Our Members
Laura (she/her)
“I am a second year PhD student at the University of Glasgow researching reachability problems in temporal graphs. I am dedicated to celebrating, inspiring and supporting people of marginalised genders and identities in academia and in general. I am hoping to help foster a network where we can help each other navigate academia and early career researching. Outside of research, I enjoy reading and going to gigs.”
Maria (she/her)
“I am a Researcher Development Intern for CoSE and a first year PhD student with the Quantum Optospintronics Group.
My background is undergaduate in Chemistry but I did my last year Honours project with Physics and graduated with 1:1. I was working at the same time as an endoscopy nurse in a private hospital as I have another degree too. I want to dive more in Maths and when I learned about the Piscopia Initative, I was very excited to help in the organising of events related to Mathematics and help supporting more women in STEM and Mathematics. I am also the PGR Intern for CoSE of Glasgow Uni for the 2023-2024 year which so far has been a great experience! I am also the treasurer for the Chess Society of Glasgow. In my free time I like going to the gym, concerts and all music related stuff. In case you wondered, I am from Greece!
